Presentation of the book „Porsche Chronicle. Polish stories”.

PREMIERE

Along with the premiere of the Porsche 911 Dakar RED58 Special, took place a presentation of the book „Porsche Chronicle. Polish stories”. Through the prism of Polish threads in the history of the Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen brand, it shows how great successes were born in the wilderness of South America, Africa and Australia.

QUALITY

The hardcover book is printed on high-quality coated paper and contains 255 black and white and color photographs, many of which are published for the first time. On almost 200 pages, there are also over 80 documents presenting both internal communication at Porsche as well as correspondence with competitors and aware and local motorsport authorities, including from the country on the Vistula.

Sobiesław Zasada

The leading figure of the above issue is of course Sobiesław Zasada, whose willingness, stubbornness and courage allowed Porsche to achieve pioneering successes in car rallies. The book, however, contains dozens of traces of connections with the Porsche brand of other Polish legends of the world of motorsports, such as Włodzimierz Markowski, Adam Smorawiński and Marek Wachowski.

The multi-stage process of searching for information on the history of the German sports car manufacturer allowed us to find in the archives photos, hundreds of documents and notes, as well as archival publications, never before seen in a digital version.

The whole has been enriched with publications and photos found in our country. „Porsche Chronicle. Polish Stories” is based both on the memories of direct witnesses of these events, journalists and photographers, as well as company documents that have been quietly resting in briefcases. For the first time presents in such detail the episodes of Polish relations with Porsche in the 1960s and 1970s. The book published in cooperation with Porsche Polska and Volkswagen Financial Services was issued in a limited number of copies in both Polish and English, and each copy has a dedicated case.
